I Have Experienced the Life in the Body of Christ, Cindy Tsai |
|
I was baptized in a meeting of a Chinese speaking church in 1981. The first year after my baptism, I went faithfully to Sunday morning service. regularly the first year after my baptism. After the service, the believers gathered for a meal and talked about business, family, and children. My husband and I felt a lack that we could not describe, and we stopped meeting there. However, we were not willing to drop out of our Christian life and we started to meet with different churches, both Chinese ones and English ones. We searched everywhere for the House of God. In 1995, under the Lord's sovereign arrangement, we came into contact with the local churches. I really liked the Recovery Version of the New Testament. This translation not only helped me to know the New Testament thoroughly, but also showed me the connection between the Old and New Testaments. My husband and I decided to stay. In the local church I truly enjoy the Body of Christ as described in Paul's epistles. I truly believe that I am experiencing something like the church in Philadelphia in the book of Revelation. The reason is, that in the local church I have realized what the Body of Christ is as well as the unique oneness of the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:3). My believing in the Lord is not only to ask Him to meet my needs, but to experience Him and live out His life to such an extent that He can eventually gain His perfect rest (Philippians 1:20-21). In the local churches I clearly see the picture of God's plan, in which the regenerated believers are brought on in their Christian life through the life-giving Spirit indwelling in their human spirit to renew, sanctify, and transform them (Ephesians 4:23; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Corinthians 3:18). I am joined with other believers so that He can build up His Body in love. The day of the Lord's coming back will be when His Body is built to the fullness of His stature (Ephesians 4:13). At that time He shall crush Satan under His feet, make him His footstool, and recover the whole earth from his hand (Hebrews 1:13; Revelation 11:15). Hallelujah, praise the Lord! What a blessed person I am! |
